Rebates and Fees
Sessions
Mellissa provides all sessions either in-person or via Telehealth. Mellissa also offers after hours appointments on request. The duration of each session is 1 hour (50 minutes face to face, the last 10 minutes will be used to complete notes, consult or contact your GP and write letters).
Medicare Rebates
If you are referred by your Doctor or Psychiatrist under a Mental Health Care Plan (MHCP), you are eligible for up to 10 sessions per calendar year under Medicare (6 sessions initially then you must review this with your doctor who may request another 4 sessions). The session must be paid for in full on the day of your appointment, at that time you will receive a Medicare Rebate of $141.85 and you may be liable to pay a gap.
Health Care and Pension Cards
Health Care and Pension Card Holders receive a reduced rate. If you are in financial distress or are experiencing financial hardship please advise Mellissa of your circumstances so she can take this into consideration.
Private Services
Mellissa welcomes clients seeking private psychological services where no referral is required. You can refer yourself by calling the number in the contact section to make an appointment. If you belong to a private health fund you may be eligible for a rebate. Please contact your health fund provider for more details.
Corporate and other Services
Mellissa provides services under the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS). Department of Veteran's Affairs (DVA). Workers Compensation if you are eligible for this. In some cases, services may be provided under Employer Assistance Program (EAP).
Cancellation policy
As Mellissa values her time and those individuals who are motivated to seek treatment, if you cannot attend an appointment that you previously made, please give 72 hours’ (3 business days) notice to avoid a cancellation fee of $190. As a courtesy and given that all appointments are valuable, you will receive a reminder text message and/or phone call, please ensure that you respond to this reminder to avoid disappointment of losing your appointment.
